Sonoma County is one of California’s finest wine regions. Noted for the quality of its wines, especially chardonnay and pinot noir, and a 45-minute from San Francisco, the region has 425 wineries, from small family-run places to large household names. Many of these appear at the Taste of Sonoma held at Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate and Gardens.
What is described by the local tourism department as “the wine event of the year”, the Taste of Sonoma features some of the best wines from the county as well as great local produce.
This year there will be wine talks from the Alexander Valley Winegrowers, Petaluma Gap Winegrowers Alliance, the Winegrowers of Dry Valley Creek, Fountaingrove District Winegrowers and the Russian River Valley Winegrowers.
Taste of Sonoma will also feature a silent disco and a white wine emoji lounge where Kendall-Jackson is endeavouring to create the world’s first white wine emoji, and a Have A Splash Lounge where you can taste some of Rodney Strong’s wines while enjoying the food of Chef Alejandro Garcia and the tunes of DJ Kind.
