The current UK City of Culture, Hull is currently undergoing a massive transformation. For many years passing well beneath the tourist radar, it is now a city that is full of surprise.
Undeniably the announcement that Hull was to become the UK City of Culture has had a dramatic effect upon the city’s cultural attractions and tourism. While the strength of its pub remains, the city now has a range of museums and galleries that are free to enter. There are also some fine restaurants and a throbbing nightlife around the old docks.
But it is not just the city itself that makes this a great city break. Neighbouring Beverley is a wonderful example of Georgian architecture with a fine minster, two great markets and pubs to rival any town.
