Few cities compare with Buenos Aires, the home of the tango. Vibrant and European in feel, the city has large parks as well as a wonderful nightlife and restaurant culture.
It is not without reason that the country is noted for the quality of its beef, and the asado or barbecue is a very popular activity across the country. Vegetarians might find themselves on a diet of empanadas – avoid the meat ones – preferably garnished with the spicy chimichurri salsa.
Right at the bottom of the country Ushuaia is the world’s most southerly city and the setting of point for trips to Antarctica. If you venture this far south visit the Perito Moreno glacier in the Patagonian region of the country – surely one of the most beautiful places on earth.
