White Christmas in Arizona

Dreaming of a white Christmas but not a fan of the cold? Get the best of both worlds with a festive trip to Phoenix, Arizona. The desert city is a favourite choice for winter sun-seekers, who flock here to bask in balmy 24C daytime temperatures.

And the Christmas connection? It was here that the composer Irving Berlin penned his classic song, ‘White Christmas’, whose release by Bing Crosby became the biggest-selling single of all time. The song was written while Berlin was a resident at the Arizona Biltmore, a historic hotel (now a Waldorf Astoria, see photos) that was favoured by Marilyn Monroe.

Enjoy a sunshine winter break right here in this storied hotel from £1,595pp, to include flights (from London, Manchester or Glasgow) and seven nights’ accommodation (room-only).
