Visit UNESCO’s Latest Site in Osaka

On 7 July, the latest UNESCO World Heritage sites were unveiled and the Mounded Tombs of Ancient Japan – 49 ancient burial mounds dating from the 3rd to 6th century (the Kofun Period) dotted around Sakei in Osaka prefecture – have been named.

Stay nearby at HOSHINOYA Kyoto, a luxury hotel on the banks of the beautiful Ôigawa River featuring 25 elegant pavilion-style bedrooms, a renowned restaurant serving seasonal Japanese cuisine and complimentary activities including early morning stretching and tea-drinking ceremonies.

An overnight stay costs from £770 (¥106,000) per room per night (two sharing; room only).
