Spa Break in the New Forest

Once the summer is over and the schools have gone back, peace descends, and prices drop making it the perfect time for an escape to the New Forest. The iconic, four-star, Balmer Lawn Hotel, on the edge of Brockenhurst in the heart of the forest, is currently running a post-school holiday break which includes a treatment in its luxurious Saltus Spa, which has been completely revamped as part of an overall £4m facelift.

The hotel has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the Saltus Spa featuring ESPA products and treatment rooms for one and two, sauna, gym and squash courts.

The spa features a wide range of solution-led body treatments and massages, each one designed and tailored specifically to personal requirements.

The special Post School package includes a choice of one of the ESPA Express Treatments:

  • Personalised Express Facial
  • Shoulder Neck & Scalp Massage
  • Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage
  • Salt & Oil Scrub
  • Invigorating Foot Treatment

A quirky recent addition to the hotel is the micro ‘Brockenhurst Brewery’ with its signature range ‘Smokin’ Deer’ brewed in the hotel grounds. It produces a great-tasting bitter and light cold-serve IPA. The brewery serves over a dozen local establishments with its bitter, but the Balmer Lawn Hotel is the only venue to serve both the bitter and the IPA.

The Balmer Lawn is ideally suited for forest walks direct from the hotel, and some rooms are dog-friendly so that the family pet can also enjoy a break.

It is also a great base for exploring the New Forests other towns, villages and attractions, including Lyndhurst, Lymington, Beaulieu and Exbury Gardens.

Brockenhurst is just 89 minutes by train from London Waterloo, making a car-free break a reality (there is a bike hire centre next to the station).

The special offer is available between Sundays and Thursdays, from 3 September to 11 October, and costs from £74.50 pp (two sharing), which includes overnight B&B accommodation, a 25-minute spa treatment (or upgrade to a 55-minute treatment for £25 pp).
