Fleewinter Launches Programme to Peru

Independent tour operator Fleewinter has launched a new programme to Peru, with seven recommended itineraries from 10 to 15 days in duration.

Comments Delia Monk, one of Fleewinter’s travel experts who created the programme: “We are very excited to add this fascinating South American country to our collection of destinations.

“Home to the ultimate ‘bucket list’ wonder of Machu Picchu, Peru certainly packs a punch. From the vast and ever-changing scenery of mountains, valleys and high-altitude lakes, to the abundant wildlife and quaint heritage towns – the richness and vibrancy of this fascinating country is mirrored perfectly by its excellent cuisine, colourful weavings and textiles.”

The new Peru section of the website includes the opportunity to take a gourmet food tour through Lima, taking a dip in the natural hot springs of Colca, spending a night in a homestay at Lake Titicaca, going Condor spotting in Colca and taking a luxury cruise through the Peruvian Amazon.

The 15-day Ultimate Tour of Peru provides a perfect introduction to the country, covering all the major sights in the south.  Highlights include the wonders of the Sacred Valley, Cusco and the mighty Machu Pichu, Lake Titicaca (the world’s highest, navigable lake), Colca Canyon and Arequipa. The itinerary also includes two nights in the Amazon jungle.  From £3715 per person (two sharing).

The 13-day Family Peru has been carefully designed so that all members of the family can enjoy a unique adventure.  Journey into the Amazon before heading to the Sacred Valley, the gateway to Machu Picchu, with activities including quad biking and zip lining.  Then enjoy a train ride before ending in a farm-stay, where you can horse-ride, kayak, walk and let the kids run free! From £2720 per person.

Peru on a Shoestring is a 13-day trip for those on a more limited budget but still includes the highlights.  Fleewinter has used simple yet comfortable accommodation that is not lacking in style.  There are also some shared services to minimise costs on long journeys, whilst ensuring you don’t miss out on any of the sights along the way.  The holiday costs from £2190 per person.

All holidays are based on two people sharing a room and include accommodation on a B&B basis (plus other meals depending on the itinerary), land transportation, regional flights, activities and guides.  International flights not included (bookable through Fleewinter).
