Bamboo Travel has created the ultimate foodie’s trip entitled ‘Gourmet China’ and, thanks to the new high-speed train link between Xian and Chengdu – which started operating December 2017 – less time will be spent travelling and more time spent enjoying the cuisine which is now eaten all over the world.
Running seven times a day, the new bullet train will cut the 643 km (400 miles) journey down from more than 10 hours to just 4 hours, with speeds of up to 250km per hour (155mph).
Each region of China offers a myriad of specialities resulting in what is arguably the most diverse food on the planet.
This 15-day ‘gourmet adventure’ – which also includes two nights in Hong Kong at the end of the tour – provides a chance to try a huge variety of different regional styles of cooking, as well as learning the basics of how to recreate some dishes yourself, so you can impress friends and family when you return from this unforgettable experience.
China is not the only Asian country with great cuisine, for further inspiration, sample our Food Tours in Southeast Asia.
