This year brings good news for fans of Easy Rider, the cult American road-trip movie starring Dennis Hopper and Peter Fonda. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the film’s release, Bon Voyage is offering a special guided tour that follows the route taken by the lead characters on their motorbike odyssey from LA to New Orleans.
In their search for the freedom of life on the open road, protagonists Wyatt and Billy stumble on quirky countercultures and small-town characters in a story that has since inspired generations of motorbike riders. Their route takes them through the deserts of Death Valley and the Mojave and on through historic Route 66 towns, the natural splendour of Monument Valley and the landmark of Four Corners (where the states of Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico meet).
Bon Voyage’s special Easy Rider 50th Anniversary Movie Tour follows this exact same route and on via Austin, Texas to New Orleans, with stops along the way to visit locations that fans will have seen on the screen. Each group of like-minded riders will be accompanied throughout by an expert guide to bring the Easy Rider story to life through their knowledge and anecdotes.
With only two departure dates (one each in May and September), this once-in-a-lifetime, 15-night odyssey costs from £4,350 per person and includes flights from London, Manchester or Glasgow, accommodation (with breakfast), motorbike rental, the services of a tour guide and a custom riding jacket.
