Wizz to Krakow Poland from May 2019

 

Wizz Air, Europe’s fastest growing airline, has announced the opening of its 26th base in Krakow, Poland. The airline will base two Airbus A321 aircraft at Krakow airport in May and September 2019.

Along with the establishment of the new base, Wizz Air will launch twelve new services to nine countries from Krakow, including routes to London Luton and Doncaster Sheffield, starting from April 2019. Tickets for the new routes can already be booked on wizzair.com or on the airline’s app from as low as £17.99.

Krakow will be Wizz Air’s fifth base in Poland, joining Warsaw, Katowice, Gdansk and Wroclaw. As well as the two new UK services, the 2 new Airbus A321 aircraft will support the operations of ten further routes to Kyiv, Bari, Catania, Larnaca, Nice, Turku, Billund, Doncaster, Kharkiv, Oslo and Kutaisi.

With this announcement WIZZ now offers 8.2 million seats in 2019 on its 85 UK routes including 54 from Luton and 12 from Doncaster Sheffield, as it aims to create more opportunities for UK travellers to enjoy low fares and an outstanding travel experience.

WIZZ has a great number of innovative products and services enabling its passengers to best customize their journey, all of which can be booked through Wizz Air’s app and website. Among the airline’s latest developments, customers can choose the Flexible Travel Partner service, whenever they want to create a new reservation without including all passengers’ names at the time of booking or secure the best fare for a period of 48 hours by selecting the Fare Lock product.

Speaking at a press conference in Krakow, Stephen Jones, Executive Vice President and Deputy CEO at Wizz Air said:

“Today’s announcement underlines our commitment to our UK and Polish markets, where we launched operations back in 2004 with the first Wizz Air flight from Luton to Katowice. We chose Krakow to be our newest base in Poland as we see the potential and the demand for low cost travel in this city which is a popular tourist destination as well as a rapidly developing business hub. Our newest base will open on 1 May 2019, offering 12 new and exciting routes.
