The owners of the four-star Balmer Lawn Hotel in Brockenhurst, New Forest, have created an Apres-Ski-inspired ‘The Lodge Kitchen & Bar’, an enormous 25m x 10m stretch tent at the front of the hotel which will be officially opened by Olympic ski jumper Eddie The Eagle Edwards on Friday 4 December.
The tent, which has special lighting and heating, is decorated with sheepskin rugs, and large monitors showing extreme winter sports to lend the tent an ‘Alpine’ atmosphere! There is a contemporary outdoor bar and Gozney Pizza oven to provide a safe indoor/outdoor space, with social distancing to relax and enjoy dining with friends and family (dogs welcome too).
In addition to the various pizzas created by the hotel’s head chef, there are sharing platters, sumptuous pasta dishes and indulgent desserts. Book for Friday 4 December and guests can meet Eddie the Eagle Edwards, the inspiration for the popular film of the same name about his life, and which was nominated for an Empire Award for Best British Film.
