Cool Camping Launches Campervan Collection

Cool Camping has launched a new campervan hire collection just in time for some much-needed travel planning for 2021. Enjoy the ease of a well-equipped campervan or motorhome and the freedom of the road, with live availability and instant booking for over 100 vehicles across the UK and some further afield, including Spain, France and Jersey.

The collection will continue to expand rapidly, with a further 100 vehicles being added in January 2021, offering a growing choice of vehicles in keeping with the Cool Camping slow travel ethos. The campervans come in all shapes and designs, from colourful 1970s VW campers and converted Land Rover Defenders to more modern campervans and family-friendly motorhomes for those in need of a little more space and luxury.

To match campers with the right van, Cool Camping offers searches by dates, people and pick-up location, as well as useful collections to browse including Dog-Friendly Campervans, Classic Campervans, and Motorhomes and RVs.

The expanded campervan hire section includes useful driving tips for beginners and advice for taking campervans to festivals. What’s more, once the van is booked up, campsites along the route can all be booked easily through the very same website.

So, from start to finish, you can plan your perfect holiday in one place, finding a dog-friendly campervan with a surfboard rack and room for two, before browsing campsites on the coast that welcome pets along too, and all from the trusted folk that have been reviewing the coolest way to camp for 15 years.

Here are a few campervan examples for a spot of UK road tripping in 2021.

Stirling the Battlefield Ambulance, pick up near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

Stirling is one of a fleet of converted 90s Land Rovers and takes the form of an ex-battlefield ambulance, now fitted out with heating, seating and a dining and kitchen space, with beds for a family of four (a pop-top roof provides added space). There’s a shower and toilet for real motorhoming comforts but with its classic 4×4 looks, camouflage paintwork and Red Cross emblems, this is a motorhome that stands out from crowd. From £700 for five nights based on up to four sharing.

Spoot, pick up from Birsay, Orkney

This all-electric campervan on Mainland Orkney is ideal for greener holidays in the wild. Spoot boats a 120-mile driving range and rapid charging in 20 minutes, making it easy to hop between the Orkney Isles’ campsites, beaches and convenient charging points with over 30 across the islands. Campervan staples include cruise control, a pop-top roof and a well-equipped little kitchen, with all recharging costs for your journey covered with a pre-loaded card. From £330 for three nights based on up to two sharing.

Lady Lily, pick up from Kidderminster, Worcestershire

This classic, 1973 Volkswagen T2 to hire from Worcestershire is guaranteed to turn heads. With her fresh cream and powder blue interior and a pop-top roof, this vintage vehicle offers the chance to holiday at a slower pace in serious retro style. While original details have been perfectly maintained, Lily also features a few 21st-century touches, including a CD player, USB charging points and an electric fridge. From £330 for three nights in based on four sharing.

Jasper, pick up from Leeds, Yorkshire

This family-sized Rimor motorhome sleeps up to six people in comfort, with a double bed at the rear, another above the cab and a dining space that converts for a further two people. The interior is modern and superbly equipped, with a shower, a toilet and a spacious kitchen area, while, elsewhere, there’s bucket loads of ‘boot’ space with a compartment big enough for a pair of bikes. Based in Leeds, Jasper is ideally placed for exploring the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and beyond and, since it’s a true family motorhome, pets are welcome too. From £525 for three nights in based on up to six sharing.

Clockwork Orange, pick up near Chelmsford, Essex

This vibrant VW has a sleek modern interior with all mod cons, including built-in GPS, Bluetooth connectivity and LED under lighting on the kitchen cabinets to match the van’s striking orange paintwork. Add a bike rack for extra adventure and choose the awning option for extra summer shade. Less than 10 minutes form the M25 and within walking distance of the local train station, Clockwork Orange is well placed for Londoners making their great escape. From £250 for three nights based on up to four sharing.
