The 2017/18 event calendar for the German city of Wiesbaden is replete with cultural and historic highlights, including a great variety of festivals. Starting with the Christmas market, the cultural offerings throughout the whole of 2018 proceed with events like the Theatrium and the Rheingau Wine Festival, to mention but a few.
The “Twinkling Star Christmas Market”
The worldwide famous German Christmas markets come to life in most cities from the end of November until the end of December (Nov. 27 – Dec. 23, 2018). Voted the no. 1 Christmas market nationally, the atmosphere at this market is a very special one due to the wonderful backdrop of the town hall, the Hessian State Parliament, and the Market Church, as well as the many lighted lilies giving the market a unique feel. Culinary highlights like Glühwein, Lebkuchen and Bethmännchen (a marzipan treat with almonds) are of course available, and music and entertainment for all ages round up the magical experience for all visitors. And who knows, maybe Santa Claus will arrive in Germany early.
