Interested in Music Festivals?

We are like good music festivals – where it’s the Proms or Glastonbury – there is something about music that gets the old heartbeat racing. What is it that Shakespeare said? Well, we will play on with some of our music festivals from around the world.

World Music Celebrations

From Nowruz, the celebration of Persian New Year, to Thailand’s colourful Wonderfruit Festival the world abounds with glorious cultural festivals in which music plays a key role. Whether its Ultra Music in Singapore or Mongolia’s Naadam Festival, there is always something to strike the right note with you.

European Music Festivals

This is no more so than in Europe when traditionally the continent becomes alive with the sound of music each summer. From the Sziget Festival in Hungary to the Brussels Summer Festival and Pukkelpop in Belgium be prepared to party.
US Music Festivals
In the US, there are more events celebrating music than there are beer festivals – although the two often merge into one, sometimes messily. Outside Lands Music and Arts, Bluesapalooza, Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Austin City Limits are a few of the standout American festivals. But if you are still feeling young then why not try Coachella Valley or for a totally other worldly experience there’s always the Frozen Dead Guys Festival.

Music Festivals in the UK

Brits love their music too – after all we did invent the Beatles. Away from the mud of Glastonbury, the Isle of Wight Festival is one of the leading gigs in the country. Alternatively, you could head for the beauty Northeast for the Lindisfarne Festival. If you like your music more mellow, try the Cambridge Folk Festival, while blues fans could head to South Wales for Tenby Blues Festival. For a more classical twist, the Edinburgh Festival could be for you, and you can always pop in on the Edinburgh Fringe while you are there. Or alternatively, try the Bury St Edmunds Festival for Suffolk’s take on culture.

Music Festivals London

The capital has gigs every night of the week, but the summer is particularly musical with concerts in Hyde Park and the Soho Music month, culminating with the Notting Hill Carnival.
Jazz Festivals
If you like you music hot then there are jazz gigs around the world. In Thailand, you can choose from the Hua Hin Jazz festival and the Chiang Mai Jazz Festival, while in Europe there is Denmark’s Vinterjazz and Jazz Brugge Festival. In London, make sure you don’t miss out on the EFG London Jazz Festival.
