December 8 marks the opening of the ski season at the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental in the Wilder Kaiser region of Austria.
SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental
The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is both family friendly and has won several environmental awards. The SkiWelt has 270km of slopes (+1,800 metres) linked by 83 cable cars and modern lifts. There are also 80 mountain huts for you to break up your skiing. The KitzSkiWelt Tour is the longest ski circuit in the world. Discover more here.
SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental Activities
From December the Wilder Kaiser region will have a plethora of Christmas activities and markets, including a Witches Programme in Söll and curling.
Christmas Markets or Bergadvent
The region will also see a series of Christmas markets, or Bergadvent, including the highest in the Tyrol at Ellmau, on 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 16 and 17 December 2022. You can access it by railway from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. on these days.
This is by no means the only Bergadvent in the Wilder Kaiser, Going will hold its Christmas Market on 18 December with delicacies, handicrafts and a petting zoo for the kids, as well as a special Christmas market each Wednesday before Christmas at the Stanglwirt.
There will also be the Winter-Woodstock Brass Music Festival: Winter-Woodstock Brass Music Festival at Brixental | Brixen Woodstock der Blasmusik (skiwelt.at).

Söll Ski & Rock in January and March
If you want a bit of rock to make your ski trip roll, then head to Söll from 7 to 14 January and 11 to 18 March for Söll Ski & Rock with gigs in the mountains, as well as the witches getting up to no good on the SkiWelt Söll.
Söll Ski & Rock is in cooperation with UK radio stations RTE 2 FM and Manchester XS. Jelly & the Goat, Gordon and the Bravehearts, and Saint John Green Leaves will perform.
