The Wine Day Moldova will see hundreds of wines from some 90 producers on display over the two-day Moldova wine festival celebrating the country’s centuries-old winemaking traditions in October.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to the Great National Assembly Square in the Moldova capital Chisinau for the Moldova wine festival, which is a major event in the country’s calendar.
What is the National Wine Day Moldova?
The wine festival allows people to become acquainted with the wine of Moldova, which at its peak created half the wine consumed by the former Soviet Union. From major Moldova wineries, such as Mileștii Mici, recognised as the largest wine collection in the world, to small scale vineyards, the range of Moldova wine offerings available is quite staggering.
Experience wines from vintage to youthful, as well as limited editions and those launched specially at the event. The National Wine Day includes wine tastings, tours of Moldova wineries and master classes, so you can fully immerse yourselves in the history of the wine of Moldova.
The day also allows you the opportunity to learn more about the local cuisine and culture.
Highlights of the Moldova Wine Festival
Some 90 Moldova wineries are expected to feature at the National Wine Day.
Join the Wine School, where you can learn both the art and rules of wine tasting, and experience tasting workshops. Travel back in time at the peasant courtyard where you can discover how wine was made in medieval times, or learn traditional Moldovan dance and whirl in a hora.
