More Life: A Sci-Fi Gothic Exploration of Immortality and Humanity

More Life Royal Court

More Life Royal Court

In a world where technological breakthroughs edge humanity closer to defying death, More Life offers a chillingly profound vision of the future. Written by Lauren Mooney and James Yeatman, this sci-fi gothic horror imagines a 2075 where pain and mortality have been rendered obsolete—but at what cost to our humanity?

The story begins with Bridget waking up to a new reality. It’s 2075, fifty years after her untimely death in a car accident. Her consciousness, meticulously preserved, has been implanted into a synthetic body—metal and wires, yet somehow still her. Or is it? As Bridget grapples with her identity in a post-mortality era, More Life explores the blurred boundaries of personhood and the ethical dilemmas of living beyond the natural limits of life.

Themes and Impact:

At its heart, More Life is more than a gripping sci-fi thriller—it’s a meditation on what makes us human in an age of technological supremacy. As death becomes a relic of the past, the play interrogates the meaning of identity, agency and emotional connection.

For audiences eager to confront the promises and perils of immortality, More Life offers a haunting glimpse of the world being built for us—a world where, perhaps, the first person to live forever is already among us.
