Meat lovers should head to London’s Tobacco Dock from 29 August to 1 September for Meatopia, the celebration of sustainable, quality meat.
Founded by Josh Ozersky in the States, Meatopia was brought to the UK by Richard H Turner. Now turned seven, the festival uses ethically-sourced meat, cooked over ethically-sourced wood and charcoal by top chefs. If you wish to read its manifesto, you will find it here.
In addition to serving the most flavoursome meat, the festival will feature workshops and live cooking demonstrations, as well as an eclectic bunch of live performers and DJs. There will also be several bars to quench your first after all that barbecuing.
2024 Chef LineUp
Organisers promise that 60 of the world’s best live-fire chefs will cook dishes over the festival. They will use sustainable wood and charcoal, as well as responsibly-sourced, quality ingredients. You can find an A-Z of chefs here.
As for entertainment, expect live musicians, and roaming brass bands, or DJs and soulful singers.
