The Guernsey Literary Festival 2024 is a vibrant celebration of the world of literature set on the beautiful Channel Island in April and May.
One of the leading literary festivals in the UK, the festival will feature novelists John Boyne and Louis de Bernières, chef Michel Roux, Mike Brearley and Pat Nevin from the world of sport, journalist Bryony Gordon, and Louise Minchin and Sarah Beeny.
Expect plenty of book readings and signings as well as meet and greets as readers can come up close to some of their favourite authors. There will be a series of workshops, tea parties and events aimed at children held parallel to the festival.

The book festival will be held from 23 April to 5 May 2024.
Where Is It Held?
It is held on the Channel Island of Guernsey in St Peter Point. Venues include The Old Government House Hotel, St James, St Pierre Park Hotel, Les Cotils and the Guille Allès Library.

Guernsey Literary Festival Poetry Competition
The festival also has a poetry competition – Poems on the Move – which this year is judged by Paul Muldoon. Details can be found here. Nine poems will be selected for the exhibition, with a further 12 for the Poems on the Buses exhibition. The categories are Open, Channel Islands Poems and Young People’s Poems (11-17).

How To Get To Guernsey
Aurigny (from Spring 2024) flies from London City, Stansted, Liverpool and Edinburgh airports, in addition to London Gatwick. Alternatively, take the ferry with Condor Ferries from Poole and Portsmouth.
