January sees two of Geneva’s most exciting art events making this an ideal time to visit the Swiss city. Geneva Lux festival will take place between 17 January and 2 February while Art Genève will start on 30 January. Geneva also has plenty of art galleries for you to explore during your visit.
Geneva Lux Festival
From 17 January until 2 February 2025, Geneva will be transformed by the Geneva Lux Festival, inviting guests to explore unique installations throughout the city. Encouraging visitors to reflect and dream, the Geneva Lux Festival installations employ projections, sculptures and lighting effects to address key themes such as ecology, diversity and hope, while also exploring the relationship between people and nature.
Each year, a select number of leading artists are invited to curate bespoke installations crafted with sustainability at the forefront of their design, including harnessing energy from the surrounding environment or relying on public participation to generate power. Suitable for all ages, this dazzling experience will surely illuminate the dark winter months and delight spectators, both old and new.
The Swiss arts festival runs at approximately the same time as the Art Genève festival.
