Introduced in 1997, Celtic Colours has evolved into one of Canada‘s premier musical events and a cultural gem of Nova Scotia, presenting Cape Breton’s musical heritage to tens of thousands of visitors from over two dozen countries.

The festival stands as a distinctive celebration of the living traditional culture of Cape Breton Island. Across nine days in October, you can experience a plethora of events and activities hosted in communities throughout the Island.

In the array of concerts, you will encounter some of the finest musicians in the world performing alongside Cape Breton’s celebrated musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers in a variety of venues, from quaint community halls and churches to state-of-the-art schools and theatres.

The 2024 Celtic Colours will involve 50 concerts and more than 200 community events, making this one truly unforgettable experience. It is based around Canada’s Thanksgiving Day and is immersed in the music and culture inherited from the region’s 19th century Scottish and Irish settlers.
