Showing in February Black Cyclone: Africa and her Diaspora’s Love for the Bicycle is the fourth screening in the Barbican Cinema’s Emerging Film Curators Series.

Black Cyclone is a curated selection of shorts by Ephraim Webber that looks at the way that black cyclists interract with their surroundings, communities and the world as a whole.

Ephraim Webber was a bike messenger for more than a decade. Having completed the Barbican’s Emerging Film Curators Lab he has become a film curator and programmer.

The series will consist of:

The Black Foxes, d B. Monét, (15 minutes). A collective of Black cyclists reclaim the outdoors (US).

In Tandem, d. Charles Frank, Chrris Lowe (18 minutes). The L39ION of Los Angeles (US).

King of the Mountains, d. James Walsh, (30 minutes). Following Daniel Teklehaimanot and Eritrean cycling.

A panel discussion hosted by Ephraim Webber will follow the screening.
