The biggest and longest running Steampunk festival globally, the Asylum Steampunk Festival, or Weekend at the Asylum returns to Lincoln in August.
The Cathedral Quarter in Lincoln is set to be transformed into a bygone era that never existed, as the world’s largest steampunk festival makes its return. The event will feature workshops, discussions, tea-dunking contests, market stalls and the Grand Promenade.
Asylum Steampunk Festival 2024
Weekend at the Asylum, a convention-style gathering, brings together steampunk aficionados from across the globe to celebrate their shared passion. Secure your wristband for entry to a variety of fun activities and events at the County Assembly Rooms, Westgate School and Lincoln Castle.
The Castle’s Steampunk Zone encompasses the Heritage Skills Centre, various marquees, and the Victorian Men’s Prison, offering a comprehensive schedule of exhibitions, talks, displays, games, special features, and exclusive traders for the convention.
Spectators can enjoy free entry to the Steampunk Festival in the Bailgate area, where market stalls are cosily situated on Castle Hill, flanked by Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle. Additionally, there’s an opportunity to witness the Grand Promenade, a magnificent parade through the Bailgate, showcasing the participants’ wonderfully extravagant attire.
