‘Artist, Gardener, Radical’, an exhibition of work by Frank Walter will run at the Garden Museum in Lambeth from 4 October 2023 to 25 February 2024.

The exhibition will feature more than 100 paintings and sculptures by the Caribbean environmentalist, artist and writer, many of which are exhibited for the first time.

Artist, Gardener, Radical

Artist, Gardener, Radical explores Walter’s relationship with the Caribbean island of Antigua through his pieces that look at environmentalism and Black identity.

Frank Walter

Walter spent the majority of his last 25 years in Bailey’s Hill in seclusion establishing his studio and garden. The works which depict both real and imagined landscapes come from this period.

There will also be a recreation of his studio as part of the exhibition.
