Trans-Inclusive Travel Destinations for a Prideful Trip

Here are some of the more accepting places for a prideful vacation to remember

With wider acceptance and diversity awareness, there are more trans-inclusive travel destinations than ever before. There is still a lot of work to be done in many countries. But for now, here are some of the more accepting places for a prideful vacation to remember.

The Boroughs of NYC

New York is home to a large LQBTQ+ community. As such, there are tons of trans-friendly spots littered throughout the five boroughs from Queens (obviously, lol) to Harlem. New York today is vastly different than it once was. And you can easily find New York City spots for transgender community hookups. Some notable suggestions include Alibi Lounge in Harlem, The Duplex in the West Village, and C’mon Everybody in Brooklyn, all of which are well worth a visit.

What About South America?

There are some surprising places open to trans acceptance. Many South American countries are very accepting of the LGBTQ+ community. Uruguay is considered the safest SA country for trans rights and inclusivity. At the same time, Sao Paulo in Brazil is home to the world’s largest pride parade and even has a museum of sexual diversity. If you are looking for a well-earned city break, Santiago in Chile is considered a very trans-friendly and LGBTQ+ city to visit.

Trans-Inclusive Travel Destinations in Europe

European countries are leading the way in trans rights. Although there is still some work to do, you will feel welcome as a trans person in most cities in some of the top-rated EU and European nations. In no specific order, some of the most inclusive countries for trans rights are as follows:

  • Malta
  • Portugal
  • Sweden
  • Belgium
  • Croatia
  • Denmark
  • Norway
  • Greece
  • Switzerland
  • France
  • Finland
  • Spain
  • United Kingdom
  • Netherlands
  • Iceland
  • Ireland

Major EU nations such as Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands are home to thriving LGBTQ+ communities. Across the pond, the UK and Ireland are also very trans-friendly, with major trans hotspots in cosmopolitan cities like London, Liverpool and Manchester and Dublin.

Captivating Canada

Canada is one of the most progressive countries in the world. When it comes to trans rights, you have nothing to worry about. Canada has strict legal protections for specific characteristics, such as trans, gay, and lesbian communities. There is also powerful advocacy for actively combating hate crimes. As such, diversity is thriving in Canada, making it a must-visit place for your next vacation. Toronto is considered the most diverse city and is cited as a cultural haven.

The Top Trans-Friendly Cities

There are many countries that are welcoming of the trans community. However, you don’t visit an entire nation, and not every city within a progressive country is so inclusive. It can be a good idea to plan a visit to the city. Some of the most diverse cities for trans people include Amsterdam, Berlin, and Lisbon. Lisbon is one of many, and Portugal has the most trans-friendly places out of any country. In the US, Seattle, Boston, and San Francisco are also welcoming.

Summary

New York City is one of the most trans-inclusive travel destinations to visit. Of course, most European cities are also welcoming. But it helps you plan your visit based on the city you visit.
